Our Parks: Our parks are a resource that can provide an opportunity for our community to come together. In the past year we have seen tremendous change in the use of our Ottsville park as several successful community events have been held there. We must continue develop the parks so we can gather together as a community to have events and provide our children with not only a place to play but also a place to explore in a fun, natural environment. I will be seeking grants from various organizations to help develop the parks in the most cost effective way the township can.
Preserving our rural community: Having moved to Tinicum in 1984, I have experienced the true rural life for almost 40 years. It has been a passion of mine to preserve this rural life. Preserving our rural community: Having moved to Tinicum in 1984, I have experienced the true rural life for almost 40 years. It has been a passion of mine to preserve this rural life. I placed my 21 acres under easement in 2003, one of the first in our open space program. We must continue this important program as placing property under easement is the only way to guarantee that land will not be developed and is the best way to preserve our rural way of life. We can seek out funding from the county and state as well as using our own open space funds to vigorously encourage our landowners to participate in this program.
Respect: I will work with the various committees, boards and councils that are stocked with intelligent, dedicated resident volunteers to see they are able to perform their functions. Most importantly, I will listen with interest and respect to the valuable input these volunteers will bring to our BOS.

The Headquarters Road Bridge: The drama of the Headquarters Road Bridge has been going on for too long. The tactic of the township being an innocent, helpless bystander has proven fruitless. Given the current status of litigation it could last many more years which is unacceptable. As such a different tactic may need to be employed. Recent efforts to install a temporary bridge have provided some hope for relief and I would investigate ideas designed to open that span and connect the community along Headquarters Road.
Our Landscape: We also have to take care of our resources such as our steep slopes, night skies and most importantly our valuable and sensitive water supplies. As a member of the Planning Commission for 10 years I have been working with others in amending and developing sensible ordinances that address the need to protect these resources

As a member of the Planning Commission for 10 years I have been working with others in amending and developing sensible ordinances that address the need to protect these resources and the rights of the property owner.
Though we may not all agree on the causes, everyone should notice our climate has changed. There are more tornados in the area, our flooding is more severe, and we seem to have more effects from hurricanes than we used to. We as a township should plan to do what we can to mitigate damage from such events and also to make sure our fire departments, EMS and police are supported, trained and equipped to handle those events.
Open Government: I believe the ability to participate in your government is invaluable. Open Government: I believe the ability to participate in your government is invaluable. All should be able to observe our leaders as they represent our interests and not just those fortunate enough to be able to attend the meetings in person. Under my leadership, public comments at meetings will be greeted with concern and respect. The live streaming of our Board of Supervisors meetings has proven to be useful to those who are not able to attend a meeting because of health, family or work issues. Inclusion is a way to unite our people and keep everyone involved and connected to our community. I would look to continue this program and research the possibility of expanding it to include live participation and other committee meetings.
